Generally female animals sell before males do.  Because of this more and more breeders are charging an extra percentage to purchase a lone/extra female. Not only is the demand for lone females very high but, the demand for lone males is low. The charge is to make up for the extra expense of holding on to the males and possibly having to discount them later in order to move them.

In any breeding industry, females are usually more valuable, because they can only produce so much per season.  Males on the other hand can be bred almost continually throughout the season.

Over time I have tried a few different ways to avoid ending up with a bunch of males that become increasingly more difficult to sell as  the end of the season approaches. I even tried selling pairs only, but I didn’t want to deny a sale of a lone female to somebody who really only needed a female.

If somebody buys the pair, they don't have to pay 25% extra. The premium is only for the EXTRA OR LONE females and that is only when the ratio is equal or male heavy.

 

 

I do take deposits; a deposit of 50% would give you a priority ( payment in full will have first pick over those who leave a deposit of 50% ). Balance will be due within 30 days of notification that your order is ready.
Deposits are non refundable providing I successfully produce the animals you order, or you fail to pay the balance within the 30 days. (Unless a special arrangement has been worked out). Special requests will be filled dependent on the sex ratio. Payment must clear prior to shipping. Please contact me within 24 hours if any problems occur. In the event when you receive your order and there is a problem, you must save the order and contact me immediately to discuss proper adjustments and/or shipping the order back to me.
Phone/E-mail orders for live animals will be held for 3-4 mailing days while payment arrives. After the 4th day, animals will automatically be offered for sale again. Unless special arrangements have been worked out.

We also offer a layaway plan on all animals, we require 50% down and 25% a month for 2 months. For hatchlings, we also charge $1.00 per week feeding and maintenance fee, for snakes one year of age and up maintenance fee will be $3.00 per snake. You will have a 5-day grace period each month, if a layaway payment is not received, we will attempt to notify you. If you cannot be reached, then we will assume that you are no longer interested in your order and it will be cancelled. If you choose to cancel a layaway order, the initial 50% deposit payment will be forfeited and the animals will be back up for sale.

All orders are done on a first come - first served basis. 

No minimum order required. Some species are in high demand or are produced in limited quantities, so plan ahead for best selection. Check our "Prices & Availability" page to see pictures & prices of available hatchlings as well as surplus animals when they are offered for sale.
I fully expect to produce the animals listed each season. But as we all know, things don't always turn out as planned. Deposits left with me are non-refundable if you change your mind. PLEASE don't send money unless you're sure about what you want, or are at least willing to take other animals as a refund. I will return your deposit if I fail to produce the animals you wanted originally, but not if you change your mind. Once payment has been made the animals will be considered sold, there will be no refunds. If for some reason you change your mind, the animal/animals are yours and will be shipped as scheduled.

1. Orders that have been "Paid In Full" will have priority in the order they were received.

2. "Deposit" orders will follow, also in the order they were received.

All orders are professionally packed in a styro-foam insulated box along with the appropriate cold or heat packs, shipped overnight to your door. No hidden costs, no box or heat pack charges.

Shipping days are TUESDAYS  ONLY. Shipped via Next Day Air to your door. ( It is the buyers responsibility to verify that next day service is available in their area. If you live in a RURAL, area next day 10:30 delivery may not guaranteed by the carrier.)

Shipping arrangements can be made for Monday or Wednesday, at an additional cost of $5.00

No orders will be shipped Thursdays, Fridays or Weekends.

Live arrival is guaranteed only if the BUYER is available at the time of delivery to Accept, Sign For, & Inspect the package and I am contacted immediately (within two hours of delivery) of any problems.

We have been receiving phone calls at all hours of the day asking for assistance. These calls ranged from a few minutes to an hour or more. We enjoy answering all questions and offering as much help as we could give. We now answer any and all inquiries via emails. Feel free to email us any questions you may have, and we will get back to you within 24 hours. (unless we are out of town). I will even try to offer help to those who purchased a new reptile from another breeder/dealer, but when asking about animals purchased from other breeders/dealers I will not be able to offer the same assistance as if you had purchased from HGH. I will not know the background of the animal you purchased elsewhere, so therefore I may not be able to answer all your questions.

Emails asking …” we will be in your area, can we come by and check out your stuff ”? will be deleted and not answered.

If you take the time to type in your questions…take the time to sign your name to the email as well – if there is no signature, those emails will not be answered either.

We hope you understand, but please try to remember we have a lot of reptiles/animals to feed and care for, as well as getting orders out on schedule.

 

 

All hatchling snakes are guaranteed to be voluntarily feeding on either live or frozen/thawed UNSCENTED NEWBORN MICE mice, geckos on crickets. All animals will be outwardly healthy and flawless. All animals are CAPTIVE hatched/born, unless otherwise noted. Shipping charges are your responsibility.

All animals are guaranteed to be properly sexed. Although, given the number of animals hatching out every year, It is possible that I can make an occasional error while sexing hatchlings. If an animal has been sexed incorrectly, I will need to be notified of it within the first 7 days after arrival.

If for some reason, your purchase has to be returned, it must be returned within 7 days for a  replacement, or credit of the purchase price. Payments received via Paypal will be credited in full less the 3% Paypal Transaction Fee. I must be notified in advance of any and all returns. Additionally, all returns must be shipped in the original containers with shipping pre-paid. Initial shipping expenses are non-refundable.

YOU MUST NOTIFY ME OF ANY PROBLEMS IMMEDIATELY (with in 2 hours) AFTER DELIVERY OF YOUR PACKAGE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DISQUALIFY YOU FOR  POSSIBLE ADJUSTMENTS.

GUARANTEED LIVE ARRIVAL

Live arrival guarantee is as follows:

A responsible person MUST be available to receive & inspect the package on the pre-determined delivery day. If someone is not home to receive the package as agreed upon, the Live Delivery Guarantee is voided. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Also if your signature is on file with FedEx they will just leave the package without having to ring the bell or knock on the door, it will be your responsibility to make arrangements to avoid this. If the package is left at the door because there is a signature release on file, the Live Delivery Guarantee is voided. NO EXCEPTIONS. It is YOUR responsibility to see if you have a signature release on file with FedEx. A phone call to FedEx can have your signature release temporarily removed - only you as the buyer can do this.

If upon arrival your animal is not alive, you may be asked to provide photo proof and/or the return of the animal. The same return policy applies as described above when returning ANY animal/s.

 

 

It is the buyer's responsibility to comply with all State, County, and City Ordinances regarding the ownership of any animal purchased from Home Grown Herps.
